The Welcome to ATL Experience is the official small business activation for Atlanta during FIFA World Cup 2026, presented by DoorDash. We're hiring event operations professionals across three Downtown Atlanta venues for 16 selling days this summer. This isn't a job — it's a résumé moment.
FIFA World Cup 2026 is coming to Atlanta. We're producing the official small business activation — a free, public experience across three Downtown Atlanta venues showcasing 100+ curated local merchants to a global audience. You'll be part of the team that makes it run.
Event operations experience at a FIFA World Cup activation — in front of a global audience, across multiple venues, with real logistics, real stakeholders, and real stakes — is not the same as working a local festival. This is the kind of experience that opens doors. We'll provide a letter of completion and a role-specific experience summary for every team member who completes the program.
We're building one flexible operations team. You'll indicate your role preferences in the application — we place people based on skills, experience, and availability. All roles work across the same 16-day activation calendar.
The on-the-ground authority at your assigned venue. You own the selling day from load-in through close — coordinating merchant check-in, managing the team, liaising with venue partners, and making real-time calls when things shift.
First face merchants see every selling day. You manage check-in and check-out, verify credentials, walk merchants through their space, and flag anything that needs escalation. You set the tone for how the day runs.
You run the centralized ice and cold chain program at your venue. Managing morning delivery, distributing pre-orders, processing midday reorders, and maintaining accurate inventory records throughout the day. Physical role — you'll be moving product.
The public face of the experience. You're in the zones — answering questions, guiding foot traffic, supporting merchants during peak windows, and making sure every visitor feels welcomed and oriented. High-energy role on match days.
You manage the secured storage pods at your venue — receiving merchant inventory at load-in, maintaining access control throughout the day, logging what comes in and goes out, and flagging anything that needs the Site Manager's attention.
You work inside the DoorDash Merchant VIP Lounge — welcoming guests, managing capacity, providing service, and maintaining the atmosphere. Guests include local merchants, DoorDash executives, ticketed consumers, and FIFA-affiliated visitors. Composure and hospitality instinct required.
Lounge service and atmosphere. You handle refreshments, maintain the space, support the Lounge Manager, and ensure every guest — from a local merchant grabbing a break to a DoorDash exec hosting a meeting — has a seamless experience.
Float role across all three venues. You're the Square POS expert — troubleshooting merchant devices, resolving transaction issues, and making sure every cart's payment system is live before doors open. Comfort with Square or similar POS strongly preferred.
Cross-venue coordination role. You work directly with leadership — tracking inter-venue issues, communicating between site managers, and keeping the full operation aligned on match days when things move fast. Strong communicator with operational instincts.
We hire one team and deploy based on skills and availability. Indicate your top role preferences in the application — we'll place you where you're the strongest fit and where we need you most. You may be asked to support multiple role types across different selling days.
Flat day rates. No hourly tracking, no ambiguity. Pre-match days and match days pay differently — match days are longer, higher-intensity, and compensated accordingly.
| Day Type | Description | Typical Hours | Day Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-Match Day | Day before each FIFA match. Lighter crowd, full operation. | 8–10 hrs | $150 |
| Match Day | FIFA match day. Peak crowds, post-match rush, full intensity. | 10–12 hrs | $225 |
| Availability Scenario | Pre-Match Days | Match Days | Total Earnings |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum (8 days) | 4 days | 4 days | $1,500 |
| Mid-Run (12 days) | 6 days | 6 days | $2,250 |
| Full Run (16 days) | 8 days | 8 days | $3,000 |
We require availability for at least 8 of the 16 selling days to apply. This ensures operational consistency across the full activation — our merchants and venues depend on a reliable team. Candidates available for more days are prioritized in placement.
Every team member who completes the program receives a formal letter of completion on Welcome to ATL Experience letterhead and a role-specific experience summary — a written description of your responsibilities, the scale of the activation, and your contributions. Built for your résumé, LinkedIn, or graduate school application.
This is a FIFA World Cup activation in front of a global audience. The bar is high. Here's exactly what we expect from every team member.
Load-in begins before doors open. If you're not there, merchants can't set up. Punctuality is non-negotiable — arriving late on a selling day is not recoverable and affects your standing for future days.
You represent the Welcome to ATL Experience to merchants, guests, DoorDash partners, and a global audience. Dressed appropriately, composed under pressure, and never visibly distracted during active hours.
Most roles involve extended standing, walking, and in some cases moving product. Atlanta summer heat (85–95°F, high humidity) is real. Come hydrated, dressed for the weather, and prepared for a full day on your feet.
Once your schedule is confirmed, your days are committed. Same-day cancellations leave real gaps in the operation. Life happens — we understand — but we need candidates who treat their commitments seriously.
All applicants must be 18 years or older by June 14, 2026. Some selling days run past 11PM — Georgia labor law restricts hours for minors, and our match day schedule requires full adult availability across all hours.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Early applicants are prioritized. We will follow up by email within 5 business days of submission.
You must be available for at least 8 of the 16 selling days to be considered. Check your calendar against the full schedule below before submitting. Applications that do not meet the minimum availability requirement will not be reviewed.
